Stoic society letter

You see a letter marked by a curious red wax seal. The letter reads as follows:

    My dear Nezznar,

I write to congratulate you on all of your hard work. It seems as if it is only a matter of time before your efforts bare fruit--Dutan and Almese race ever closer to inevitable all-out war, thanks to what you've managed to achieve here in only a few short years. I marvel at what you've done with such little funding, bartering on promises and heresay to build a path forward to such a bright future. Truly, you are Society material if ever I've seen it.

I found myself faced once again with that shrill, bickering ambassador from Dutan. Getting him to release Randall has been the task of a lifetime, but we're finally finding some traction after these long years. We might see him sent back to that odd little town he loves in as few as three months from now (assuming Dutan doesn't fall before then, hah)! What a useless moralizing prick, that embassador. I swear. Elves are born with soap boxes nailed to their feet. I look forward to never having to deal with another bloody starry-eyed elf taking up my sunshine. You underground lot are so much more pratical, and we're more than happy to let you take all the caverns in the underdark that you want. Tell me, when the last terrestrial elf is in chains, will you finally pop open that bottle of champaigne I sent you? I know I'll be opening one myself so I can get good and soused, haha!

We discussed once more the prospect of your Society admittance at the last board meeting. The First continued to oppose it, of course. He can't help himself, really, he's a purist. He thinks it's his job to embody all the values of Zarus. I'm just not sure he can see the changing of the times. You dark elves have a lot to offer, and I think if we divide up this work as partners, the dream of humans above and drow below will be that much easier to seize. I do think the Second and the Third (now Brian Chalmers) are starting to see things that way, too. The Chairman, as usual, has been rather quiet on this matter--probably trying to avoid showing favoritism. Still though, the plan you layed out last month sounds very promising. If you do manage to secure that old forge you found, I think that's it. I think you'll be in. Exciting times!

Well, Aoife is calling for me; I must attend to my wife. Give Ophena my regards, and please let me know if there's anything else I can do to help you finish nailing down your standing back in the underdark; even the First wants you strong and well-positioned among your own people so that you can take the helm in driving this thing wherever it needs to go. Help us bring some order and culture to these wretched little runts, eh?

    Warm regards,

Chancellor Oudin, the Seventh, Stoic Society.
